01/11/01: Well, gosh, I wasn't invited to the secret meeting!

But here's what I can tell you:

Mtv is almost exclusively pro-Democrat Mtv supports gun control (I watched a special last year with Tabitha Soren) Mtv supports the legalization of marijuana (I watched a special last year with a woman I didn't recognize) Mtv supports hate crime legislation (Just last night they had a movie about Matthew Shepherd, and I've seen not one but two specials about the case and the fallout)

I guess the word "agenda" is a bit extreme. I don't know if they actually have some kind of scheme they've developed - I doubt it - but they certainly aren't shy about letting their viewers know what they think are the "right" opinions on these issues.

And all this I was able to glean from what little I watch (if I had to guesstimate, I'd say between one and two hours a week, total - that is not to say I watch for an hour straight, just flipping, mostly).

Yes, they are in business to make money. They've succeeded at that. But what about all the aforementioned specials? Somehow I don't think the comapnies that buy advertising on Mtv pay as much for that time as they do on, say TRL.
