Hi everyone, Im Ryan Collins, and Im here today to talk to you about christianity. BUM BUM BUM. Before all of you start to send your emails about how much you hate me and how Im a hypocrite, please hear me out, if only for a few moments. Im writing this because I do realize that the majority of people out there who claim to be christians have hurt, annoyed, bothered, distressed, guilt tripped, complained, been completely hypocritical, acted like they were better that you or all of the above. If there is one of you out there who say "Thats not true, I love christians!! They're the most awesome people ever!!" You're lying or just being downright sarcastic. I know that christians have been all these things and more to all of you at least some time in your lives. I recognize this and as a christian I truly and sincerely apologize for this. I really really do. Those people who you have encountered who called themselves "Christians" are completely false and make the rest of us look horrible. But I assure all of you that this IS NOT HOW WE REALLY ARE. As a matter of fact- true christians dont even consider ourselves a religion! Were just a group of people who follow the teachings of one relaxed and groovy guy named Jesus, who by chance happens to be the true living God. Were not Catholics, Baptists, Protestants, Luteherans, Evangelicals, Free Presbeterians, (Locked Up Presbeterians)-- Sorry bad attampt at a joke, were not fundamentalists, were not rednecks, were not radicals, were not crazy, and we mean you no harm. Think of christians as just a particular group of people just like you would seperate senior citizens or african americans. Were a group of people and like any other group of people you cant use the actions of a few to judge the rest of us. The KKK claim to be christians but you dont see us lynching blacks or jews, do you? NO - these people should just be disregarded entirely!! Us true christians do have a particular set of things we try to live our lives by. Yes its true we try not to use foul language, yes its true that we try not to use drugs, yes its true that we try not to have sex before marriage, but news flash- WERE REAL PEOPLE AND WERE NOT PERFECT. No were not perfect by far. And were not better than any non-christians and dont let any other person tell you otherwise. No christian out there is better than any other non christian out there. The bible says were all sinners. Its human nature to sin- were not God, were not Jesus. WE SIN LIKE CRAZY. It doesnt mean you're not good enough for God. AND IT DEFINETLY DOESNT MEAN THAT ANY CHRISTIAN IS BETTER THAN YOU. God doesnt weigh sin like we weigh crimes here on Earth. For instance on Earth there is a difference between killing someone and running a red light. These two things are both considered illegal but I think the police would chase a murderer rather than a speeder. Well, God isnt like this. God sees sin as just sin. No sin is worse than another, no sin is better than another. There is no difference to God between a prostitute and the pope. God doesnt care! Were his children no matter what we do and he loves us. This is why christians are no better than anyone else- no matter how they live their life. Were all the same. Period. But then this raises the question - but doesnt the bible say that if we do bad things like getting drunk or having sex before marriage we wont go to heaven??? Well if you look in the Old Testament of the bible it does!!! The God of Abraham and the old covenant in the Old Testament of the bible was one bad mutha shut yo mouf!!! It was the old straight and narrow back then and if you didnt obey the old ten commandments....WHAM...you were royally screwed. Because back then - there was no way to be forgiven. If you did something wrong and you still wanted to get into heaven you had to settle God down by offering Him gifts like sacraficing animals and such. This was the only way for God to not be so pissed off. But its not like that anymore!!! This is why Jesus came to Earth!!! Jesus was alot more loving and nurturing towards his people and this deal was kinda worked out - see, Jesus wants all of us in heaven with Him and so He was all like " Aight Pops, Imma go die on dis here cross so that all ma peeps can have eternal life." And so it was. Jesus stepped in for us and took all of our punishments for us!!! For all the crap things we've all done in our lives Jesus took our punishment FOR US!!! Isnt that awesome??? Now we dont have to live in fear, we dont have to worry about being perfect or appeasing a crazy God!! All the work is done for us! All we have to do Jesus says, is accept Him. Thats it! we just have to actually say Jesus I believe in You and I love You, or simply You're cool with me will do. So thats it. As long as we accept the fact that he's there. Maybe say hi every now and then. Even ask Him for a favor or two. Alot of people think were crazy for praying. Talking to something that you cant really see is there. But trust me- when you need something, God provides it. If you NEED it though. You cant just go God give me a Porsche. Or God please let me hook up with so and so - They so fine! No but God please heal me or God please help me to pay my rent, or feed my children- and you're in business. And its not like we REALLY talk with God- we dont hear Gods voice. But God has His really wierd ways of letting you know He hears you. So thats about it for now, Ive already wrote way to much for the average attention span can handle. but if you have any questions or comments, you want to cuss me out, you think Im wrong, or if Ive actually made you think a little and you want to know more. Please email me. You dont have to be afraid to ask or tell me something no matter what it is- even if its just to tell me to shove the bible up my craphole ( which I expect some of you will) go right ahead.
