I've just been reading about the supervolcano that is sitting underneath yellowstone. Apparantly if it blows it will wipe out half of America. Last time it blew was 64,000 years ago and it is supposed to blow every 60,000 years, already the center of the park has risen by 71cm over the last 50 years and lakes are tipping slightly.
Now I'm from Australia so I don't really care too much, but I'm just thinking how this would affect American politics. If it blows it will wipe out Texas (which is fantastic) but will also wipe out the west coast. If you look at the blast maps it is supposed to include Washington state too. It will wipe out a bunch of red states but also much of the west coast blue states.
Do you think when Yellowstone blows this will be a good things for the Republicans or the Democrats?
