I Disagree with Mr. Cranky. I was disappointed at the end of the movie, the first time i saw it. If you watch it again, you may be able to see that Rosebud was a symbol of what Charles loved, maybe the only thing he ever remembered loving. You have to see he was abandoned by his mother and given (willfully) to a rich man with no heir. He never was taught to love any- thing/one beyond the material aspect. I think the ending was appropriate also becasue it ws such a simple thing to such a complicated man.
