Movie is about childhood innocence lost right. Does anyone know why Kane was given away? He was beaten by his father to the point that the mother gave him away. Look closely at Kane's eye (he has a black one). Listen closely to the words spoken by the mother after the father tells the banker "he needs a good switchin". She says "is that what you think, thats why he is going away". Between that flaw and the fact that there is no one in the room when he is dying and says "Rosebud" lead the ending to disappointing.
