RIOTS IN VENEZUELA
Twelve people were killed and 90 were wounded in the Venezolan capital of Caracas. Police opened fire on anti- government protesters in front of the presidential palace.
Over 150,000 people called for the resignation of president Chavez. The protesters clashed with police and Chavez- supporters.
Ten high-ranking military officers have sided with the opposition.
President Chavez shut down 5 tv-stations because they had allegedly provoked the violence.
