...Is to leave them where you found them and watch for an hour or so to see if the mother comes and picks them up. If she doesn't, they need to bet taken to a rehabber (not a vet, vets do not have the license to practice on wild animals...well, some might). How could this person know where the squirrel's nest was? Was it in a garage or something, or a low tree? You would have to watch to make sure the mother came back because you can't be sure she wasn't killed...there's a reason these babies are not in the nest in the first place. And it could have been an attack on the nest in which she didn't survive. Daddy squirrels don't hang around to take care of the little ones, so it's a single-parent household.
Again, don't feed them, keep them warm.
