after that rough start where I got turned down for Missy (who, btw, is still listed as up for adoption, even tho they have since moved several dogs down to the adopted section.... so I can only assume they lied to me...and I can only assume that's because I sent one of the guys to my myspace page -- to a particular blog of mine -- and he wandered a bit and decided he didn't like what he saw... maybe the agnostic bit, the fact that I have and very much like my bi-sexual and lesbian friends or that the fact that I'm anti-Bush... whatever. I just hope Missy is at least out of a kennel and in a foster home now).
Moving on. I've been approved by 2 rescue groups (1 still needs a home visit but they said it was just a formality. She said she'd never received such a glowing recommendation from a vet before. He called me an "exemplary dog owner"). I'm still interested in a couple of dogs at the humane society. Going to 2 shows tomorrow with 2 groups I've applied with yet (although one of the groups is the group that gave me Onyx, so maybe my approval from 9 years ago still stands)... one show has the poor dog that needs the name change from Thelma. On Sunday I go to a Lab show and I'm so approved, that if I fall in love with one there, I get to take it home with me right then and there. So, I could have me another dog as early as Sunday!!!!
Which makes me excited and of course made me break down sobbing. I just have to remember to be alpha dog this time because the kitty is used to having run of the house now.
And Rajah -- it's okay. You can say here that I'm out looking for a dog to adopt. :-)
