08/31/00: An impostor who has something to say...

Except...I don't think the phrase "These things happen all the time..." is meant just as weird things happen all the time...because if bizarre things happened all the time, how are they bizarre at all? And from the conversation I had with Bulworth, (which I assume you read since you responded) you probably saw that I viewed it as a sign from God, that he was watching what was going on and in the end, when all characters were about to make the biggest mistakes of their lives, he saved them all.

(I've grown up Catholic and I know that in Catholocism, suicide is sin...)

-Jimmy Gator attempts to shoot himself, but is knocked unconcious and killed in housefire started by shooting the TV...so he died...more dignified I suppose, and without the "Mortal Sin" that apparently gets us a one-way ticket to Hell...(hm...)

-Linda is saved by Dixon...

-Frank is about to destroy even further his relationship with his father...but realizes something in the rain and you can almost see him mouth the words "I love you" in the last scene...

-Claudia and Rose Gator are reunited by the rain of frogs...

-Donny realizes his mistakes, and is saved by Jim, who realizes that he was also power-hungry, and realizes that "some people need to be forgiven; some need to be put in jail"...

-Stanley tells his father he needs to treat him better...

The whole movie revolves around this idea:

People need to be treated better by other people and themselves...

Power battles are what caused the rain, but the rain is what saved them...

And this is why these things happen. Perhaps they appear bizarre, they are not. They do make sense, and they don't "just happen". They happen with reason, and they happen often, because every day, every where all over the world, people need to be saved.

And that's why the frogs were cool...
