O.K.: This movie licked a fat nut, plain and simple!! The original film was made over in EVERY way and turned into a 90 minute promo for Head-Bangers Ball!! There is very little original about this waste of celuloid and what is new is a disgrace to James O'Barr's intended vision. And just what the fuck was the producer thinking when Sara tried to "mount" Ash? what a disgrace to the whole motivation of the Crow persona. In the original story (Both the Kitchen Sink comic book and the first film, which happens to be the single closest adaptation of print brought to life on the big screen) The Crow is a lost soul in pain and his whole motivation is to enact vengance upon those who wronged him so he could rest peacefully with his beloved, now we are supposed to belive that he might just have time in between his vengance killings to get head from Sara's charachter? Whatever. And about 10 minutes into the film I suddenly realized, "this is the same movie, only with less talent and a Crow who is just about as easy to understand as listening to a tape of Jean Caude Van Damme, back masked and underwater. Sure he looks pretty, but you can't understand a damn word he says. The integrity of the storyline has been compromised in a way that makes you wonder if the studio was still trying to cash in on the controversy over the first film. the only shred of decent acting though comes from Iggy Pop, who, i must say, kicked some serious ass. If there is anyone out there who enjoys the crow story try reading the new comic book mini-series' that are in stores as I live and breathe. This film is a disgrace to the original and an insult to O'Barr fans.
