01/07/98: The Crow: One Series That Deserves Extinction.

Better than The Crank? Surely you flatter me...*also, don't bite the hand that feeds ya, kiddo :P*

On The Crow series: I agree, the original "Crow" was excellent; dark, but not the musty old load of Goth tripe that called itself "City of Angels"; and Brandon Lee, whom Vincent Perez can only dream of being. Let's face it, Perez was only hired because he superficially bears a resemblance to Lee. Haven't seen Rapid Fire, but I did see Brandon's father's "Enter The Dragon", which I would have to say is one of the most groundbreaking martial arts films ever made. If Brandon or Bruce were alive today, I shudder to think what they'd have to say about "City of Angels".

I'm a fan, I must confess, of the original comic series; both the art and the writing were beautiful, although why James O'Barr *the creator of the comic* said that Crow 2 was "closest to his vision", I have no idea.

Also, just thought I'd let you know, since you seem to like my reviews: on my home page, coming soon, I will be archiving all the reviews posted here, and adding many more. The page's called "Santanico's Home Page", after my mIRC nick, and can be found at: http://www.nlc.net.au/~trekkie/

Devon, and anyone else who's interested, check it out sometime, and do sign the guestbook!
