Notice that except Mr. wonderful sensitive feeling Kevin, every single white male in the film is a, buffoon, idiot, cruel heartless bastard, mean as a snake, or just walking evil. While every single indian is warm,thoughtful, understanding, wonderful, helpful, and just the sort of people you would meet if you wandered into heaven. Hell at the time I was a card carrying liberal( Amnesty intl. AND ACLU) and even I noticed this through the movie.
