If it has few spoken words, it's called a rock opera. Remember them? "Jesus Christ Superstar", "Tommy", "Godspell" etc. IMHO there needs to be more of these. As far as "Newsies" goes? Come on, you can't seriously find a bunch of singing paperboys more entertaining than "Evita", even if you don't like Madonna (I'm not a big fan myself), just the costumes, set design, inventive editing and most of all, the music, regardless of who sings it. Name one person who owns the "Newsies" soundtrack. Besides yourself.
