While it did have monents of predictbility, overall 'Dant'e Peak is an exciting film with a GREAT musical score, good acting and terrific effects. It also lives within the realm of realism in a way that 'Volcano' does not -- when a volcano blows, you GET THE HELL OUT OF ITS WAY. You don't try to contain or control it -- that acpect of 'Volcano' catapulted that fim into the realm of science fiction and total implausibility...
I give 'Dante's Peak' 4 out of 5...it's a ride worth taking.
