Next time, stop off to the left or right, with enough room so that the vehicle behind you, with a driver talking on a cell phone while eating, doesn't hit your naked ass when he blows the light. He'll plow into the vehicle in front of you. If the one in front backs up, he'll go right by you.
Same applies to on-road stopping too, e.g. construction flag details. Pulling off to the side of the road, out of the traffic path, will pay for itself one day. Guaranteed.
