I don't see how anyone can enjoy experiencing such dark and disturbing films. Even though I've never seen Dark City, I have seen many other dark films. They all leave me depressed. Sometimes they actually warp my perception of reality with the effect lasting well past the duration of the movie. For example, I remember seeing some strange noir film a year or so ago. After the movie was done, it was like I'd just gone through some personal hell. I was depressed and bewildered after the movie ended. My normal mental routines were replaced by an erie feeling of misplacement. It sure was a strange feeling. Oh I'm sure the film had some thought-provoking ideas, but I was too distracted by the mental gore to notice. Ah-ah, Natural Born Killers- that's the movie I'm thinking about. That movie sucked.
