I love this movie. The city HAS to be dark, by the way, Mr. Movie Critic. The Strangers can't tolerate sunlight. It isn't just done for atmosphere in this case, although it does give the movie a film noir feeling. The only jarring note was Kiefer Southerland, but that's because I simply can't stand him as an actor. Otherwise, it's close to a sci-fi masterpiece.
