Yes, it's below average, but reading some of the reviews, you'd think this was the next Battlefield Earth. I heard that the studio tampered a lot with the movie to make it more marketable- maybe the non-studio version would have been better. Stan Winston did his usual good job on the monster, but they should've stuck with the original design.
