01/30/03: More stuff

There is an entire branch of literature that IS evaluated almost purely on word choice: poetry. I'm not saying that you can't tell a story with movies, but all of the elements of story telling are tertiary, certainly NOT more important that the essential nature of the medium. And even within that type of filmmaking, the ways one creates meaning in movies is drastically different that in literature.

Aron: I'm actually starting to think that James Whitney's Lapis and Jordan Belson's Momentum are better movies than 2001.
