Comic books vs movies:
A lot of writers/artists, especially Frank Miller, exploit the fact that a continuous sequence is all on the same page. Also you cannot deny the importance of the interval in movies. Filmmakers control not only the order in which we see individual images, like comic book creators can, but they also control the length of time you see those images. Just think about how even narrative movies exploit this to direct your attention or create mood. There's no analogous technique in literature.
