01/16/08: So now there are 3 areas where I have abandoned libertarianism.

1) I favor universal health care. But ONLY if we adopt the government spending restraint of those other countries that have it, such as France, Germany, and Japan. The U.S. already spends more tax money, per person, on health care than those other countries. So there is no need to raise taxes to pay for universal health care.

2) I favor France's SOCIALIST nuclear energy plan. And while I would trust the French government to build and operare nuclear power plants in the U.S., I would not trust the U.S. government to do it. Fortunately, the private company Westinghouse has a great, proven track record, which is just as good as the French government's.

3) I believe in global warming.
