Yes, the nightmare of bureaucracy. This is indeed a valid point. But the flip side to this nightmare is that what's taking all that time is the convicted killer getting his "due process". Trials and numerous appeals that can last for years. Years of trying to beg for their lives. That's a lot more time than their victims got to beg for THEIR lives. But as far as being a deterrent- you do bring up a good point. I shall have to think about this some more. One should always keep an open mind no matter how strong their feelings are on a subject.
