If you don't recognize "Dead Man" for what it is, a parody, then you just don't get it. C'mon, think about it.....gay furriers? The fades were there to enhance the hazy feel of the movie. Blake was a lost soul.It seems to me if you were searching for your intellect on the floor of the theater, you were looking in the right place. It doesn't have to be Mel Brooksian to be a parody.
