Johnny Depp has matured from tv zomboid to the heaviest of the peculiar roles genre. I laughed at him in Cry Baby, guffawed and related to his strangeness in Benny and Joon, felt for him in Scissorhands, and felt creepy for him in this one. I really liked the realism in it's depiction of violence,disturbing in it's surreal quietness,without explosions, and overblown sountrack blather. Depp's interpretation of his role was just strange enough.
