For example, in the Godzilla Forum, everyone said they hated it. I hated it to but I felt like I had to defend the movie because the people were saying shit like "it was illogical", "Godzilla didn't move me emotionally", and other such crap. If someone hated it cause they didn't think it was funny, thought it had bad special effects, or just found it plain boring, I'd understand. But because its charactors lacked depth? What the hell did they expect.
The only part that I disagree with you is when you said Titanic was intellectual.
