After seeing "Dear God" and (speaking of dear God) the vomit-inducing "A Smile Like Yours", the word Kinnear became a pseudonym for an actor who defines mediocrity. However, after I saw him in "As Good As It Gets" I realized that perhaps there is more to Greg's acting than just a cheesy exterior. But anyway, back to the movie. I thought that the idea was hokey, the characters were stereotypes, and Jack Klugman couldn't look any older. But it all sort of came together in a charming way. I predicted the ending in the first ten minutes, but something about it made me sit through it, which leads me to belive that it wasn't too terrible. I would give it three bombs, not a dynamite.
