that the charges are too high, but also that there were several white students and adults involved in fights between the date of the noose hangings (early Sept.) and the time of the final beatdown that led to these charges (early Dec.).
That's a three month window. If you're not familiar with all of the incidents that took place in that three month window, perhaps you should do some more research. The fact of the matter is there were several altercations in which whites started it, including one where a white student brandished a shotgun at another black student. Said black student then beat his ass and took his gun. Who got charged, the black kid while the white kid walked. Not sure you're all familiar with the penalty of pointing a gun (loaded or unloaded) at another person, but generally you get to ride in a car with shiny silver bracelets and spend some good quality time in prison.
The charges on the black students who beat a kid so bad he could go to a dance a few hours later are attempted murder, while white students have walked away scot-free from similar incidents. The crux of the matter is fair and equal applications of law.
With that said, the white student deserved to get his ass beat and Al Sharpton is still a douchebag no matter who he supports.
