Why is it no one talks about Woody Allen's good movies (he has many of them) my five favorite are: 1)Annie Hall-The most original romantic comedy ever made and I think the first and only postmodern love story; unfortunately a lot of hacks have ripped off ideas from this film. However it is still brilliant it breaks love and romance down to silly vaudville style jokes and clever sight gags and amazing one liners my favorite being Don't make fun of my masturbating habit I am having sex with someone I love. 2)Manhattan-Easily the best looking Woody Allen film this makes my "top 5 list of films that I could freeze the frame at anytime and hang on the wall", not to mention a disturbing plot that would reflect Allen's future. 3)Crimes and Misdermeanours-Woody Allen's best "self important artist" film this movie really made me think and does a brilliant job expressing morality and religion and Woody Allen and Alan Alda have a hillarious chemistry together. 4)Sleeper-A great comedy farce some brilliant one liners, sight gags, insight and social commentary 5)Hannah and Her Sisters-A great deconstruction of what makes people tick Allen does a great job developing characters and character relations in this one, it reminded me of the Chekov play "The Three Sisters".
