Trips and I were having an argument. The question is this: Is the comment "I never expected him to do it" cheesy? Tripps claims it is.
Here's the question. If an acquaintance says that he's gonna blow up a store, and you think he's kidding, but he actually does, how do you convey that you did not expect him to do so? Do you say
A. I never expected him to do it (my version)
or
B. This is an unexpected turn of events (Trip's version)
