07/26/01: a compelling and terrifying story

Posted By: star69

I loved this movie. It showed me how much can change within one second. It opens the door and invites you inside a household, to meet a family that seems as happy as can be. But one second when a mother turns her back on her little boy, he is gone...... for what they thought was forever. This film shows the viewer all the termoil that this woman had to go through after her son dissapeared, when all her husband can do is just "move on". She feels trapped, like some part of her had been taken away. But it had. They finaly move on with their lives, not forgiving or forgetting, when there is a knock at their door one afternoon. This knock turns out to be their son. After 9 years, they finaly have him back and it is not a great and wonderful as they hoped. Throughout this film, you are invited in to see what real problems are, and how someone as weak as this women, (played by michelle phiffer)deals with them. It is a really great film with a lot of unexpected twists and turns. I would reccomend it to anyone.
