I think I would add a plug for Disney's 'Fantasia' there also. I would also suggest that film scores are a frequent user of classical themes, whether adapted or played straight ie 'A Room with a View', which did much to popularise opera. Soccer World Cups seem to be a useful agency these days, as well.
