I remember being really impressed with the score to Star Wars when I saw it. I couldn't get it out of my head, and I kept hearing classical music. I told my Mom I could hear music, and she asked what kind of music, and I said 'space music', since classical was used a lot in the soundtracks of science fiction movies. My parents then bought me this series of records with assorted classical music (one record was overtures, another was symphonies, etc.) played by the Boston Philharmonic, I believe, that were being sold in the local grocery store. I looked forward to them getting the new one in every week or however long it was between them - I ended up with well over a dozen.
My Dad also had some classical records from before my sudden interest in the genre, but didn't listen to them very much.
