Ahhh! Can we say Made for TV/Seventies action? When the FBI starts to Ram the newslady's car to intimidate her... in traffic on a bridge over the Patomac River out of washington, you know you're in for trouble!
The science behind something a mile wide hitting the shallow waters off of cape hateras NC was comical. The Continental shelf extends quite a ways off at that point, with the ocean being anywhere from a couple hundred to 1000 feet! We could have a new resort of of this with a 4000 foot mountain sticking out of the ocean(after the tidal wave that is)
Being a Richmond Virginia native, I got a real kick out of the evacuation from Richmond. Apparently these people have no sense of direction, as I would head 64 due west. You see a sign that says "Virginia Beaches... 6 miles". Went the wrong way didn't you? To make matters worse, these Southern California Mountainscapes includes a sign telling of a junction with Interstate 66 in 3 miles. 66 runs from Washington DC to Front Royal Va. Nowhere does it pass within 100 miles of a beach. There was also a scene from the boys girlfriends yard of a nice mountain desertscape... hmmm, maybe the comet already hit.
Oh well, at least it wasn't as bad as armegeddon!
