10/12/06: Bush asks self hard questions, then answers them with

"Because the stakes are high."

Obviously the rehersal questions and the questions asked at the actual press event varied somewhat, and he needed to get in some zingers.

It is so unfortunate that the disconnect runs throughout the administration. On the bright side, there's only a couple of years left of a lame duck. Now that should be quite the sight for our tired old eyes. A lame duck president for the past six years, is now in the lame duck portion of his presidency. Be afraid.

Be very, very afraid.
