08/14/06: On topic: Did anyone see the other version of "The Villiage"?

For some reason, there were two versions of "The Villiage" that were released in theaters- one version was the regular one, and there was one that must have been an early edit, because the sound equipment and lighting can be seen in a lot of the footage. A friend of mine and myself really missed out on the whole "mystery ending" thing because we were staring at microphones the whole time. I know some other theaters must have had this version too.
