Actually - Sarah is only sitting in the Bronco at the end of the U.S. release of the film. The American distributors decided to cut the last 2 or 3 minutes of the film out because they felt that American audiences would not like the actual ending. But in the full film, as released everywhere else, it does not end in the Bronco, but in the cave.
