This was basically a comic-book movie. Lotsa shooting, some self-deprecating humor.
But it got downright comical when you saw Antonio Banderas trying to play the same role previously filled by the relative unknown in "El Mariachi." (Who was that guy in the first movie, anyway?)
Banderas was half as good and no doubt 10 times as expensive.
