That makes it even more perfect! This movie is a collection of standard movie moments, and "goofy kid gets come-on from hot centerfold" is one standard. ("Goofy kid actually makes it with hot centerfold" is another, like a rimshot.) It goes hand in hand with the aspirations of the protagonists, too, who are looking forward to the greatest night of their lives.
Capsule review: it's a blast.
