I try to avoid Wal-Mart whenever possible, just because of the CHUD-like people that work there, but service is shit everywhere. I wish more places would switch to those self- check out express lanes like my local Kroger has. You scan your items over the reader, and then swipe your credit/debit card. You've gotta bag your own stuff, but at least it's faster than waiting for some sullen clerk to do it, and this way I'm reasonably sure my Ramen noodles won't get bagged underneath a dozen cans of something or other.
