When I was a cashier, it was often the customers who were dumber than the cashiers. The frightening thing is when you realize that a cashier is smarter than a doctor.
And as far as the woman, give her a break. Often the cashiers stand in one spot the whole day, and reaching too far to grab items is a sure way to cause injury.
