Back when I was in school I would sometimes run a register at an on-campus fast food place. Sometimes I wouldn't ring up all the food because these were college kids trying to eat and the University was already shafting them on the prices at this place so I figured a couple free bags of fries or burgers wasn't going to put the university out of business. The university had a debit card system where there was so much money in your account and if it ran out you had to replenish it. Most customers were cool and just nodded or said thank you if they noticed at all. I wasn't doing it for thanks, I was just doing it to be cool. BUT THEN, the dumbasses showed up near the end of the semester. These kids would get PISSED OFF if I didn't ring up all their food. I finally asked one kid what the deal was and he said and I quote "I don't want any money left in my account. The university's not getting any of my money, I'm going to use it all up." Honestly, I did hold back the urge to scream "The university already has your fucking money dumbass. If you really wanted to shaft them you'd say thank you and use the extra money I'm giving you to buy more food." Anyway, that's when I realized that some people are smart and some are fucking stupid and there's nothing you can do about it.
