I'm posting this mostly because I'm not sure my emails are actually getting to Bickle anymore.
Okay, so only four weeks after I sent you guys that email, I finally finished "With the Turn of the Wheel," some 3.5 weeks late. Got sidetracked by quarterly reports, but I started on it again on Tuesday and finished it and uploaded it yesterday. It's actually "only" 115 pages long, which as you're both well aware, is incredibly short for me but most importantly, within the allowable length for a first- timer's screenplay. Anyway, it's accessible through my main screenplay page (which I just updated for that reason).
I would consider this one (should it interest you) to be much more important than "The Creep, the Freak & the Loser" novel at this moment, because I don't have any intentions of doing anything with that novel for months for all the reasons I outlined in the email about it. However, I have a July 15 deadline for a screenplay contest that "Wheel" would qualify for so I'd appreciate as much feedback as soon as possible on that one. So what I'm saying is, if you started on "CFL" but are interested in "Wheel," please put "CFL" on the backburner for a while. (It takes only a couple of hours to read "Wheel" anyway, unlike 600 page "CFL.")
As a related sidenote, I oversaw the first phase of the production of "You've Got Hell" on Saturday. I was THOROUGHLY impressed with the director -- he's easily good enough to handle a $100M Hollywood budget. In fact, although I'm executive producer (due primarily to my financial investment in the film), I pretty much gave him free range to do whatever he wanted after Saturday. I couldn't believe how good he is -- film school taught him well! (Even if it was FSU film school.) So I'm feeling pretty good about that project right now (although I'm still not so sure about the acting, but hell, "Clerks" didn't need great actors!); if it turns out as good as it should from what I know right now, we're going to try to raise financing for film festival entries so it will qualify for a Best Short Film Oscar, though I seriously doubt that's going to happen, but, hey, crazier things have happened.
