going into the book some jackass had told me that it was a story about how Holden killed his sister cuz he didn't want her to grow up and be corrupted by society. So there I am during the whole book waiting for the big murder scene a la Crime and Punishment. I was fucking on the edge of my seat the entire last quarter of the book waiting for the murder. Anyway, you can guess my disappointment. I remember bits and pieces of the book. I liked the part where he said you couldn't go anywhere without seeing a "FUCK YOU" sign which was pretty much true and the part about where the fish go in the winter made me laugh, but really I don't think it was great satire or even really a classic although I think the writing was pretty good.
