...I actually don't care much for the book any more. I loved it when I was the typical pretentious morose suburban teenager though. It's just something I've noticed that people who adore the book (Winona Ryder springs to mind as the most publicly slobbering example) all read it at around 16. So it stuck with them. People who read it older don't see what all the fuss is about. The last time I reread the book, I was wondering what exactly I thought was so great about it back in the day.
It's kind of like how people who saw Titanic or The Blair Witch Project *before* the hype blew out of proportion...everyone I knew who saw BWP pre-Time and Newsweek cover stories loved it, everyone I knew who saw it after the hype hated it.
I don't even think you'll see this message since the new forums are up. Oh well.
