Are you $#!+ing me? As my friend Nick a *real* D&Der, from back in the day mentioned "An Elf would *never* wear armor that was not ornate." Simple, honest innacuracies like that were just the icing on a truely un-enjoyable film, full of plot holes, weak acting, pathetic characters, and lame battles.
The DVD was even more ungodly, and after hearing the directors *LISP* through the entire commentary, it was obvious that these two were the kind of geeks that got *beat up* as teenagers *by* the D&D "geeks".
A better movie could have been made by grabbing an assortment of random renfesters, a digital camcorder, and the octopus that Ed Wood used in "Bride of the Monster".
The worse thing of all, however, and not even mentioned in the Cranky review, was that this movie had the GALL to think that it was Phantom Menace, by ripping it off horribly. Well, at least this queen wasn't *elected*.
And while I'm on the subject of Queens. The only reason to watch this movie is to see RHPS originator Richard OBrien as the leader of the Theives Guild.
But at least the Theives were done correctly. They *stole* things for a living. Even the writers of this film could understand that. What tehy could *not* understand, however, was every *OTHER* aspect of mideival life, from circa 1200ad to 1600ad. The "Everybody is equal" bit was pure modernist P.C. claptrap, and the character of Snails, from it's conception, should be considered a hate crime.
