There's "serious" monster movies like say "Aliens", or ugh..."Phantoms"...or "Jaws" even. These have more horror elements.
There's semi-serious ones "Godzilla" and "Tremors". These have death and destruction, sometimes with some humorous moments, but little graphic violence.
There's ones that are played seriously even though the mere premise is absurd "Night of the Lepus" and most japanese made Godzilla films, and they lack gore or humor and are best viewed while intoxicated.
Then there's tongue in cheek stuff like this. It's deliberately goofy, and doesn't for a second try to be original or logical. Since when does toxic waste make things grow bigger, as opposed to killing them or creating birth defects?
But, yeah, I noticed the stun gun thing...and the motorcycle...that never runs out gas, either.
As for the Ostriches...if they are anything like poultry, they practically shut down after sunset. If they aren't, I'm wrong.
