...around where i'm at, tonite was the premiere of "Jack of All Trades", starring Mr Campbell as Swashbuckling-Spy-Guy Jack Stiles who works undercover for Thomas Jefferson in the battle to prevent Napoleon Bonaparte from becoming Emperor of All...
I gotta say, i was thoroughly entertained..
I expected to enjoy the show due to Bruce's performance (he is my favorite actor, afterall), but i was really surprised by how much fun the show as a whole was..
The writing really impressed me.. They managed to work in some pretty clever sight-gags and one-liners.. 'Twas much smarter then i had been expecting it to be..
The main reason to check this one out, though, is definitely for Mr Campbell..
What other actor on Earth could make a line like "I would've knocked, but my fists had other plans!" sound cool?
If you're a Campbell fan, check this one out.. You won't be disappointed...
And while i'm at it, i have to say that "Cleopatra 2525" (the show that was on just before "Jack of All Trades") was pretty entertaining too..
This one tells the tale of a stripper (stage name:Cleopatra) who goes in for some breast implants in the year 2001, and is somehow cryogenically frozen and forgotten.. She wakes up in the year 2525, to find that humanity is at war with a Terminator-like species known as "The Baileys"...Cheesy one-liners, H-h-hot Chixx and Cheap T-1000 effects ensue..
Of course, it's obviously ripping off "The Matrix" and "The Terminator", but for a half-hour tv show, it WAS alot of fun..If you're bored, and see it in the Tv guide, don't hesitate to check it out!
The best line from THAT one was:
"What's a boob-job?"
(Just to warn you the type of show that it is)
