Plot - hot US band - sound a lot like Smashing Pumpkins meet Jimmy Eatworld - arrives at country UK family mansion for a week of R'R after the disappearance of their old bass player and arrival of new one, Alicia. Family is slowly going broke and after confusion with the servants the owners, Peter O'Toole & Joan Plowright, end up waiting hand and foot on the US "punks". Rest of film plays on "cultural collison", evil record company demands and a romantic subplot. Actors do actually appear to play instruments but alas Alicia only does a little back-up vox plus bass.
O'Toole is hilarious, but dignified in a "you stupid old man" kind of way. Definitely a straight to video job as production values are low with some seriously odd lighting decisions and shoddy hand-held camera work. Worth a look though for O'Toole and the band's songs actually kick some major ass.
As for Alicia, oh yeah baby, you're in the band...
