Despite waking up late, I'm suddenly running ahead of schedule...I'm glad I have a few minutes before school. Let's begin.
Wulfgar, I know victims, families of victims, and friends of victims who are all opposed to capital punishment. So while your opinion is all well and good, try to find a better excuse for the murder of criminals. Oh, and there’s nothing cruel and unusual about the death penalty? From what I understand, it takes nearly 10 minutes (if not more) to die in the electric chair.
Bickle, life imprisonment should keep these people away from generally everyone (except other criminals and those who choose to work for the system). “Emotional catharsis for the victim's families” translates to revenge, and if that’s what we all want, where will it end?
Fatty McGee, the government may have “different aims than that of the common murderer,” but good intentions don’t quite cut it, in my opinion. As I just said to Bickle, life imprisonment would do the job.
Next was…JYD! You spoke of the “nice comfy little home” that criminals get when they’re in prison. Well, dude, you’re getting into prison reform. I’m all about that. Prison reform and the system of capital punishment are really two different issues. And by the way, when you “off the son-of-a-bitch,” you’re suddenly worse than the weasel you started with. I’ll be more than happy to explain how when I get home from school today.
