Its easy to make fun of Heston and the NRA but you had better think twice before you give up your right to own and bear arms because of a few nuts. Politicians like Clinton kill more innocent people by mistake in a few minutes than the Columbine gunmen did in an afternoon.
The primary reason the people of Kosovo are being murdered and driven from their homes by very small and poorly armed paramilitary units is that the have been denied the means to defend themselves by the same sort of restrictive gun laws that Clinton proposes. If even 5% of the people in that area had arms it would change the whole equation. They should air drop some shotguns to the poor bastards, at least give them a chance. A similar program was started in Vietnam near the end of the war. Regional Popular Forces (rufpufs) were armed with shotguns and pistols. Such short range weapons were useless as military weapons because of their short range but were great for 'discoraging' the Cong from recruiting or stealing rice from villages.
